Proposal of technical lines, sketches& storyboards_2
Ms. Claudia showed us 2 shorts, which are made by Mr. Ryan Woodward, on the last class. The shorts are so fabulous, I especially love the part, when the artist shows the woman dances by using very smooth line, I cannot explain that in literal or verbal.
I think I remember and would love to using this sense into my short-in the shadow part.

Proposal of technical lines, sketches& storyboards_1
Since I have explored a lots of kinds of brushes, I would love to finish all this short by Photoshop(most of my friends said "I am crazy." haha:D~, my god, I just love PS so much>////<~), and might use a little bit After Effect before the short finished.

The whole tone of this short is influenced by Chinese Ink Paintings, while actually I am one, who inspired by Chinese Ink Paintings:). I also add the watercolor elements inside. I believe it will be a nice try combine those 2 painting:D.

Exploring the storyboards and details.
The story is talking about the main character trying to get rid of his shadow. The shadow is in vitalization with anything he afraid of.
I really would like to show about my own story first here, and which is also the idea origins from. I lived in a super metropolis, the population boosting every day! Poor people immigrates from small cities or countries, they stares at residence, who is thought to have a better life than themselves. The place ,where I lived, is not in security any more. About months ago, my grandpa passed away, which is another huge blow to me, with 2 years staying at home, I didn't know where am I belong, I cannot see hope. After that, those fear, worry, hopelessness turned to hatred, anger. I used to hate the world, haha:), but of course not any more. Anyway, it sounds funny if I say it today.
At that time I was so vulnerability and told my mother some one stalked and watched us. My mom told me I was just stressfulness, in fact, I believe she is right.
Anyway, there would be a lot of details if I say. So back to the story, once woke up this memory, I cherish very much that I such an experience, it was a treasure for me, so would love to putting those emotion and feelings insert to my character:D, how cruel I am^_^, haha.
The environment separates to 3 different parts:
At the beginning, the main character is gave the sense of Helplessness, Pessimistic. He is chased by his shadow, he cannot gets rid off them, on the other hand, his shadow grows stronger. (the first 3 on left).
And then, he fears and goes into a forest, his shadow tears to many pieces, appearing to anywhere. (3 in Middle and right side). Finally, he gives up, stops running, and cries, the tears drop onto the shadow. And the shadow leaves him.

The last part, when the person found his shadow disappeared, he is very happy. He enjoys the time without the shadow: joying, jumping, walking around. However, everyone, walking pass by him, has their shadow, the shadow is the part of them. The main character started to miss his shadow now.

Finally, when he touches the ground, where his shadow used to stay, his shadow catches his hand and goes back.
There are two smiles appears and switches from both the shadow and the protagonist. They are showed on the reflection of water. Finally, they get their smile face.
It is the story that I would love to show myself first:), there are lots of difficulties in the world especially when I come to the real life, do not fear on them, they are the part of your life. You will see the better "view" in a positive way.

First ideas about 3 Vignettes
Sketches& Rough ideas
There is not a idea that just comes out of my mind, it was considered by months ago, now I am so delightful to get the chance explore the idea. At the first time, it was supposed a sad and dark story, because I was been through a lot of changes and difficulties during months ago, however since everything started turning to a good way, even I didn't realize when those things have being changed. I began considering some positive elements that adding to my short.
After watching lots of fabulous presentation on last class, I figured out some words for my vignettes. There were couple of words in my mind:
Helplessness
Vulnerability
Happiness
Hope
Fear
Uncertainty
Courageous
Depressed
Optimistic
Pessimistic
I probably would like to go with Helplessness, Fear, Pessimistic and then finish with Happiness to my story.
So there will be 3 different vignettes in each parts but eventually presents the whole competed story.
About Character Design
It seems I made the decision at the first time about shape of the character was: fat person, who has a pretty round body. I actually made sorts of skinny person to compare with the fat guy.

About his face, I imaged a lot, basically he is wearing a mask(just say he doesn't really have face, or maybe say he doesn't own to much a motion:))

I add an clock on his back, which is hopefully to show the audience he is really really weak person, who doesn't have too much emotion, feelings...just likes a doll.
